•Students may access two treadmills at the school, as well as, gym passes to Body Fit gymnasium located one block away
•An annual table tennis clinic and two professional tables to support skill development
•Individual counseling sessions with staff trained in Choice Theory to assist in the management of life circumstances/academic concerns
•Support from school personnel to act as advocates to obtain community services such as: SCCHS Daycare, Addictions Services, Mental Health Services, Partners in Employment, Violence Prevention Worker, Family Advocacy Worker, Parent Educator and Public Health.
Students struggling with anxiety, depression, addictions, dysfunctional home relationships and a host of other issues, require intensive monitoring and ongoing support to remain productive in the learning environment. It is our belief that students must be supported in overcoming these obstacles, but it is essential that they develop the resources within themselves to manage their life circumstances. Our goal is to strengthen the individual.
Our low student to teacher ratio is a key factor in supporting students. It is essential that students feel safe talking with staff members and that students engage with staff to learn how to manage their lives effectively.
