Dear Students and Parents of Frontier School,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. We trust you had an amazing and adventure-filled summer. The Frontier School staff hope you are well rested and ready to take on another spectacular school year! We cannot wait to open the doors on Tuesday, September 5 to welcome everyone back. We will start our year with our 2nd annual hot dog lunch! Students will receive a hot dog, juice box, bag of chips and popsicles - our treat!
This year our goal is to continue to develop an inclusive, enjoyable, educational atmosphere that everyone can thrive in. Our students are at the heart of everything we do. At Frontier School we have a caring, talented, knowledgeable staff who work together to help our students grow into capable lifelong learners and positive contributors to society. The future brings many unpredictable twists and turns, but the journey will be so worth it and we are so pumped to walk that path with your children.
Frontier School’s mission statement is educating students to their highest level of academic achievement in a safe, caring, and inclusive environment that builds a foundation for lifelong learning so they can become successful, respectful and valued adults. And we have every intention to work toward fulfilling this mission statement again this year. Last year our elementary students worked hard to achieve their reading goals. By the end of the year their collective reading level increase was 245. That may just be a number to you, but to us it was a HUGE accomplishment. This was achieved because of the support provided by Chinook School Division, our dedicated elementary staff who collaborated together, the students who read every day and worked really hard, and finally the parents who supported our reading goal and helped their children along the way. Let’s see what we can do this year! We would also like to acknowledge how hardworking and dedicated our middle years and high school students were last year. They tackled many distance learning courses; new rules were implemented; they experienced an increase in student involvement, and students’ voices were heard. Each student rose to the challenges before them and had an extremely successful year.
I am excited for this year's involvement of the SCC. They always have such fun and creative plans to boost school morale and camaraderie. And the SRC has several new and few returning members. They are excited to get started in creating a memorable year for staff and students alike.
We hope you enjoy this new school year. Happiness is when you realize your children have turned into good people.
Welcome to 2023-2024. Let’s make this our best year yet. Go Raiders!!
