June - Principal Message

There was lots of rain and activities at Central School for the month of May. Our grade 2 and 4 classes participated in swimming lessons at the Aquatic Centre, developing their confidence and skills as swimmers. Our SWAC Track and Field group participated in the Sectionals Meet and a number of students came away with ribbons! Congratulations to all participants and good luck to those advancing to the District Meet. Our Grade 7 & 8 band students were given the opportunity to travel to Saskatoon for a 2 day band trip. It was an action-packed trip and one our students are sure to remember. The highlight for me this month was our Spring Family Event on May 22nd. We had a great turn out, pizza, fun, and provided families with a chance to share ideas and feedback. We look forward to using this information to make next school year even better!

It’s hard to believe that we have reached the final month of school. June is such a busy and exciting time for our entire school community. One thing to look forward to is the extracurricular Spring musical performance of Peter Pan on June 12th. The students and staff members in this group have been working incredibly hard - it is sure to be a great show! Our teachers have been busy planning year end field trips for their classes. We will have classes travel to Morse, Fort Walsh, Eastend, and a number of other locations in and around the Swift Current area. On June 14th, our Kindergarten to Grade 5 students will have their Track & Field Day at Central School. Families are encouraged to attend as there will be a FREE hot dog lunch for all members of our school community in attendance.
