Call for Volunteers: 2025 Graduation Events

The Graduation Parent Committee has been hard at work planning this year's Grand March and Dry Grad festivities, which will take place on June 26, 2025, at Innovation Plex. These celebrations promise to be a memorable experience for our graduates, but we need your help to make them a success!

Here's how you can get involved:

🌟 Grade 11 Parents

We're seeking Grade 11 parents to assist with the Grand March. Volunteering will allow this year's Grade 12 parents to sit back and enjoy watching their graduates in this special moment.

🌟 Grade 12 Parents
We're looking for Grade 12 parents to volunteer for the Dry Grad event, which will take place immediately following the Grand March.

If you're available to lend a hand with either event, please contact Bert & Jill Gruetzner at:
📧 gruetzner@shaw.ca
📞 306.741.7722

Thank you in advance for your support in making this year's graduation unforgettable!

LIBRARY QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“And now let us believe in a long year that is given to us, new, untouched, full of things that have never been, full of work that has never been done, full of tasks, claims, and demands; and let us see that we learn to take it without letting fall too much of what it has to bestow upon those who demand of it necessary, serious, and great things."]

―Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters of Rainer Maria Rilke, 1892-1910  (W. W. Norton & Company, 1969), page 253.

CST CURTI'S TIP OF THE WEEK

So you had a fender bender, collision, accident and the other vehicle is right there with you….what do you do? Calm down and don't panic!

1. Be Safe

• Check yourself and others for injuries. Call 911 immediately if there are serious injuries or if anyone's life is in danger.

• Move your vehicle to a safe location, if possible, to avoid further accidents. If it's not safe to move the vehicle, turn on hazard lights.

2. Exchange Information

• Exchange the following details with the other driver(s):

• Full name and contact information

• Driver's license number

• Vehicle make, model, and license plate number

• Insurance details (Saskatchewan operates under the SGI Auto Fund system).

3. Document the Scene

• Take photos of:

• The damage to all vehicles involved

• The scene of the collision, including road conditions, traffic signs, or signals

• Any visible injuries

• Write down details such as the time, date, location, and a description of the incident.

· Witness statements are important.

4. Contact SGI (email, phone or in person)

• Report the collision to Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) as soon as possible, even if the damages seem minor. You can file a claim online, through the SGI app, or by contacting your local SGI office.

• SGI will require:

• Your driver's license number

• Vehicle registration information

• Details of the collision

5. Involve the Police (if required)

• You must report the collision to the police if:

• Someone is injured or killed

• vehicle is not drivable or from another province

• There is damage to public property (e.g., street signs, lampposts)

• Get the file number for your claim.

If you dinged someone's vehicle and they don't know…don't panic. Leave a note, tell someone (police) or try to find out who's vehicle it is. Let them know. Don't be a person the does a hit and run. (yes that's illegal). If you are a victim of a hit and run then I have bad news…..the repair is all on you or your insurance.

If you know ….you know

Cst Tony Curti
