Due to the poor road conditions, Chinook will not be operating school buses (PreK-Gr 12) within Swift Current today. All affected families are notified directly.

Chinook bus routes will be cancelled when the temperature reaches -40°C or -45° C with wind chill (based on Environment Canada). Schools will remain open. Closure, Severe Weather and Student Transportation (Administrative Procedure 132)

*When any urban or rural bus routes are cancelled, families are notified directly. Schools remain open unless otherwise noted.

Happy Holidays! The Chinook Board and administration wish all staff, students and families a festive and restful break! Friday, December 20 is the last day of school and classes resume on Monday, January 6, 2025. See you in the New Year! ☃️🎄
Maple Creek Christmas School Bus Parade

On Monday, December 16, the bus drivers in Maple Creek decorated their buses and did an after school tour through the town, going past all the senior centers. Due to the weather, the residents didn't come outside this year, so they gathered at their windows to wave at the children who were waving at them!
