Thanks to Karla Silbernagel at Mankota School for coaching the Mavericks this year! This message from Karla captures the season for the girls:
Our Senior girls volleyball team ended their season at Hodgeville with some very close games. They played their hearts out and were very close to making it into the final round of playoffs. Unfortunately, we lost out in the semi-finals. I’m extremely proud of this group of ladies, as it is not always easy coming to a different school, playing with new people, learning from a new coach, but I have to say this was an easy season. We had a lot of laughs, made new friends, learned new skills, and, I hope, had a memorable season. There were many firsts for these ladies- first sleepover in a school (we had 2 school sleepovers!), first time playing senior v-ball, first co-op team, first time winning a tournament, etc. Personally, I had one of my best years of coaching. What a great group of girls! I would like to thank the many parents who helped drive and co-ordinate getting players to practices, games and tournaments. As well, thank you to Mrs. Rieder and Mrs. Clement who helped get this team going. Lastly, to my girls at Val Marie, Glentworth and Mankota, thank you for a great season. I was so proud to call you Mavericks!
