The Chinook Regional Science Fair took place on March 7 and 8 at SCCHS, with a total of 55 project entries showing in the event.
Congratulations to all the students that participated in the Regional Fair. Three gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze medals were awarded across three age categories; Junior (grade 7-8), Intermediate (grade 9-10), and Senior (grade 11-12). In addition, three provincial awards were given out to deserving students!
Top honours went to Parth Shah from Central School, for his project on the impact of light on heart rate, and second honours were awarded to Chelsea Wilson and Kayla Hughes from Hazlet School, for their project "Breathtaking". These students will now travel to the National Fair, Canada Wide Science Festival, held this year in Regina from May 14-21, where they will compete with approximately 500 other students from across the country for awards, medals and cash prizes. Congratulations!
